Advanced Diploma in Airline Management Strategy
Course Overview
The Advanced Diploma in Airline Management Strategy is a 12 to 15 month UK Level 5-equivalent programme for practitioners moving into cross-department management strategy roles at UK airlines. You will look at how airlines coordinate people, operations, commercial and customer experience teams around a shared strategic plan, and how those decisions cascade into the daily operation. The syllabus is aligned with the leadership frameworks of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the operational standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
By graduation you will be able to run a section of an airline management team, own a cross-department programme and prepare structured management reviews for senior leadership.
The Advanced Diploma is delivered as a linked series of leadership modules with an integrated capstone project. You will scope, propose, run and report a small management improvement in your own workplace or a case-study environment, and defend your recommendation in a structured viva. Assessment is a mix of applied reports, a management case study and the capstone.
You will study leadership through the lens of real UK operational trade-offs. The capstone project asks you to identify a genuine improvement opportunity in your workplace or a case-study environment, scope the change, run a small implementation and defend the outcome in a structured viva. The intent is to graduate people who can defend their management practice, not just describe it.
Delivery is fully flexible across on-campus, online and distance-learning modes, with a mix of taught modules, applied projects, a capstone and a structured viva that together deliver a mature Level 5 credential.
