LLB in Legal Theory
Course Overview
The LLB in Legal Theory at LSLPE is a UK Level 6 qualifying-law-degree-shape honours programme running three years full-time with part-time and accelerated routes. The programme keeps the standard LLB core (contract, tort, criminal, constitutional and administrative, land, equity, EU) and layers on a substantial jurisprudence and legal theory pathway: analytical positivism, natural law, legal realism, critical legal studies, feminist jurisprudence and law and economics.
By graduation you are writing structured jurisprudential essays, drafting analytical case notes, arguing theoretical positions in moot and seminar, completing a placement year in chambers, a firm or a policy body, and delivering a dissertation supervised by an academic or a practising counsel.

LSLPE teaches its LLB from central London, within a short tube ride of the Royal Courts of Justice, the UK Supreme Court, the Inns of Court and the Law Commission. That geography turns doctrinal and theoretical study into something argued in walking distance of the classroom.
Every intake, on-campus or remote, joins the same weekly seminar structure with named programme-tutor support, run in the case-room tradition. The LSLPE careers service runs at least one careers day each academic year connecting LLB students with chambers, firms and legal think tanks.
