MSc in Tourism Destination Management
Course Overview
Studied across 12 to 18 months, the MSc in Tourism Destination Management is an MSc route combining advanced modules, a substantial dissertation and applied executive projects. The programme concentrates on destination stewardship, DMO strategy, community engagement and destination positioning, and sits within LSILHHM's tourism, travel and aviation service portfolio in central London. Modules blend theoretical grounding with applied case material drawn from destination management companies and full-service and premium carriers, and every submission is written up to a professional standard.
Delivery is available on-campus in central London and online for UK-based, distance-based and international learners, with the same syllabus, tutors and assessment across all routes. Applicants can choose the delivery route that best fits their current work commitments, family life and travel plans, and switch between routes at defined intake points if their circumstances change. LSILHHM tutors provide weekly office hours, and the MSc in Tourism Destination Management module handbook signposts referenced reading from bodies such as the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).
By the end of the programme graduates emerge as strategic practitioners capable of taking senior and executive roles, framing board-level questions and leading cross-market decisions at destination management companies and destination marketing organisations. The LSILHHM careers team supports graduates into their first role with structured coaching, employer introductions and a warm handover to alumni already working in the sector.
