Diploma in Fiscal Policy
Course Overview
The Diploma in Fiscal Policy is a UK Level 4 practitioner-foundation qualification running 9 to 12 months. It equips working analysts, policy officers and public-sector staff with a practitioner's grip on UK fiscal policy: the tax system, the spending framework, borrowing and debt, fiscal rules and their interaction with monetary policy. The syllabus is aligned with Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy competency and Royal Economic Society reasoning benchmarks.
By graduation you will have written a short Budget commentary, produced a departmental spending analysis, prepared a tax-policy note and defended your reasoning in a seminar under structured questioning. The Diploma articulates directly into the LSLPE Advanced Diploma in Fiscal Policy and Higher Diploma in Macroeconomics.
