Diploma in Judicial Systems
Course Overview
The Diploma in Judicial Systems is a UK Level 4 practitioner-foundation qualification running 9 to 12 months. It gives working legal-support staff, court staff and career changers a systematic command of the English judicial system: court hierarchy, jurisdiction, procedure, judicial appointments, judicial ethics and comparative judicial structures. The syllabus is aligned with Judicial College teaching benchmarks and CILEX practitioner competencies.
By graduation you will have mapped the county-court and Crown-Court progression of a live-standard case, produced procedural summaries for civil and criminal proceedings, drafted a listing note and a case-management submission, and produced a comparative piece on a chosen jurisdiction. The Diploma articulates directly into the LSLPE Higher Diploma in Legal Studies and Higher Diploma in Criminal Justice Systems.
