Diploma in Tourism Service Design
Course Overview
The Diploma in Tourism Service Design is a UK Level 4-equivalent qualification running 9 to 12 months that trains practitioners to design, prototype and iterate tourism services from itinerary concept through to guest hand-off. It is aligned with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Tourism Society and Institute of Data and Marketing (IDM) reference standards.
By graduation, students can lead a small service-design workstream, produce blueprints and journey maps and coordinate cross-functional prototypes for destination operators and travel brands.
Assessment on the Diploma in Tourism Service Design combines coursework, journey-mapping tasks and a structured service design portfolio drawn from live LSTITM sector briefs. Two of the assessment tasks are set by working destination and operator design teams so outputs reflect current UK practice, and the final portfolio is reviewed by industry mentors before graduation.
